Amelia Curran is a seeker  

Amelia Curran is the Writer and Producer or Co-Producer of 9 acclaimed albums and 16 years of International touring, garnering 17 music awards and over 30 nominations.  Her work has been the  recipient of 7 Music NL Awards, 3 Music NS Awards, 3 Canadian Folk Music Awards, 2 East Coast Music Awards, 1 Juno Award, 1 SOCAN Award, and 2 times on the Polaris Prize List. 

Beginning in 2014, Curran became heavily involved with political and humanitarian work focused on mental health awareness and systemic reform.  She is the co-founder of It’s Mental, a grassroots community organization that focuses on the funding and sharing of knowledge on mental health realities and first aid mental health training to help safeguard our communities, families, and friends.

Curran has since been producing and directing documentary film, including the intimate CBC production “Gone”, a story of art and suicide in Curran’s own community, and a celebration of legacies that exist dually as uncomfortable, yet inspiring.

Amelia Curran lives and works in St. John’s Newfoundland.  And yes.  There is more to come.
